If you live in LA and is free this Thursday, you must go to the L.A. Love and Leashes Fundraiser! It has an open bar, food by celeb chef Sepi Kashanian, plus live performances by LP and Milo Greene! All proceeds go towards L.A. Loves and Leashes, a store that hosts adoptions from animals in LA’s city shelters, to help pay for their rent.
My own puppy Sniffles was rescued from the West LA Animal Shelter. The thing is, I did not know that a city shelter existed within blocks from me until I looked it up online! Although tons of abandoned dogs are sheltered within six city shelters and available for adoption, so many people still go to pet stores to buy dogs and cats!
LA Love and Leashes give these adoptable pets exposure to people who visit malls and pet stores to find their perfect pet. The downside? Rent is super expensive – unless they can raise $15,000 by July 1, L.A. Love and Leashes will be forced to close shop.
Tickets to their fundraiser is $150; if they sell just 100 tickets, they’ll be able to keep the shop opened! That means more pets can be given the attention they so desperately need. Click here for more details! Hope you can make it to the event or at least donate via their website!
