While nail salons litter every strip mall in LA, it’s damn hard to find one that you can trust. You don’t want to walk into one questioning its cleanliness, it’s sanitation schedule, and whether or not you’ll go home with a free fungus infection.
Enter Bellacures – a recent celeb favorite that’s been popping up all over trendy areas in LA. From Santa Monica (not 3rd Street – too touristy, try Montana) to Larchmont, there’s no shortage of them. They offer a clean and relaxing environment to just get your nails done for a reasonable price- no fuss, no muss! They have all the latest shades from Essie, OPI, and they offer gel manicures too. Nothing crazy, nothing extravagant, but they get the job done.
The service is great – every time I’ve gone the manicurists have been super gentle and detail oriented. Some locations are a bit more airy and spacious than others. The Larchmont location is extremely tiny, forcing people to zig-zag around legs and manicurists. Otherwise, it’s a great location with a farmer’s market next door on Sundays, tons of small shops, and even a pet adoption corner.
Did I also mention that they offer neck, hand, and leg massages? I totally convinced my guy friend who was waiting for me to get a manicure simply because the hand massage looked amazing. His fingers managed to still look shiny and clean two weeks later!
Now I’m off searching for a similar type of nail salon in Manhattan. If you know of good, clean, inexpensive place in the city, let me know!
*Disclaimer: I’ve been to Bellacures a few times before I was invited for a free service. So was it truly free since I’ve paid for my manicures there before? Oh this FTC thing confuses me. Regardless, opinions are my own. This is not a sponsored post.

Because it’s so hard to judge a salon before you visit for teh first time, look up its website and read the testimonials, ask yourself if it looks like somewhere you’d want to be.
Best of all, if it’s local ask your friends if they’ve been and if not where do they go.
Regards
Barbara
