Just in time for back-to-school season, Jennie Garth and her daughter Lola have paired up with Crest and Oral-B to promote proper dental care to tweens and teens.

Let’s be honest – none of us were really militant about our dental hygiene as a kid. We probably skipped brushing more often than not, and when we do brush, it was for no more than 30 seconds. Garth wants that to stop – she wants to instill good habits at a young age so her kids will have healthy teeth for life. But that’s just not easy. Kids are impatient so two minutes seem like an eternity to them. Plus teeth products run either too sweet and young or too strong and spicy.
Pro-Health FOR ME Oral-B Electric Powered Toothbrush ($29.99),Fluoride Anticavity Toothpaste ($2.75-$3.25), and Fluoride Anticavity Rinse ($4.99)
That’s why Crest and Oral-B created a Pro-Health FOR ME line specifically for tweens and teens with products to wash away the “GUNK” in their mouths. The Oral-B Pro-Health FOR ME Electric Powered Toothbrush ($29.99) is just like the adult Oral-B toothbrush – it’s rechargeable and it comes with a timer! It’s just at a kid-friendly price point with kid-friendly bristles so their gums won’t hurt. Along with it kids can use the Crest Pro-Health FOR ME Fluoride Anticavity Toothpaste ($2.75 for 4.2 oz; $3.25 for 6.0 oz) and Crest Pro-Health FOR ME Fluoride Anticavity Rinse ($4.99) to keep their teeth completely healthy. All of the products are tween and teen friendly – so friendly in fact that adults like myself absolutely love them. Yes, I said it – I love the Pro-Health FOR ME line myself. The toothpaste tastes good and the rinse isn’t so spicy that it burns!
On top of that, I was able to catch a few minutes with Garth, a self-professed beauty girl, for a quick chat on her beauty must-haves and unfortunately 90s mishaps.

Gloria Yang: What are five must-have items that you always use every morning?
Jennie Garth: I always wash my face. I use a natural cleanser from either Epicuren or Suki. I also usually hydrate with the Neroli Age Corrective Hydrating Mist from Eminence – it’s a coconut mist. Then I apply sunscreen – I use different ones. I also always brush my teeth using Crest. Lastly, mascara. If I want to look really tired I’ll go without it, but I have blonde eyelashes.
GY: What’s your favorite mascara?
JG: Maybelline Great Lash. I can’t use mascara if it’s moist at all since I have really long eyelashes. I get it speared on my eyelids five minutes after I put it on. I also like the new Givenchy Noir Couture 4 in 1 Mascara with the three balls.
GY: With 90s trends coming back to style, what was your most unfortunate 90s beauty mishap?
JG: I over-tweezed my eyebrows! It got so bad that my makeup artist took me to a tattoo artist to tattoo eyebrows on. It was ridiculous and I was probably just obsessing at the time. So now my 15 year-old is starting to trim her eyebrows and lets me do it. She learned from my mistake!
GY: Have you shown her pictures of you without your brows?
JG: Yep. I say, “Look! Mommy’s eyebrows don’t look good that thin. Don’t do that.”
