HOW TO HAVE A GOOD HAIR DAY WITH ORIGINAL & MINERAL

My old Twitter tag line used to say something like “I’m a lab tech/beauty blogger with fantastic hair.” I could say I was totally being sarcastic but I wasn’t, I was just bragging. My hair really is fantastic despite how much I’ve put it through. Perms, bleach, highlights, and more ammonia-based dye than you can imagine.

But it still looks and feels amazing. That’s not to say that I don’t get bad hair days – when I’m trying out different products my hair will sometimes revolt. When my hair revolts I get incredibly moody.

Luckily the products I’m testing now, the Original & Mineral’s Hydrate & Conquer line, are nothing short of amazing.

Original & Mineral started in a Sydney Australia salon as an ammonia-free hair color line. The founder Jose Bryce Smith approached it with a philosophy to provide products that are “natural-based, low chemical philosophy with native Australian ingredients bottled in recyclable packaging that looks as good on the outside as it is within.” With that philosophy in mind, they created an entire at home hair care and styling line to compliment their hair colors.

Despite being more natural and eco-friendly, the luxury factor does not suffer at all! The entire Hydrate & Conquer line ($9.95 for 1.7 oz, $28.95 for 11.8 oz) smells like coconut and makes my hair feel so soft and airy. The shampoo is creamy and rich – a little goes a very long way. The conditioner is lightweight – while it hydrates my hair decently, it may not be enough for severely damaged hair. By using both together my hair retains it’s natural bounce without the need of excess products. I simply smooth on some Frizzy Logic Hair Serum ($9.95 for 0.33 oz, $24.95 for 1.7 oz) that’s made out of Argan Oil and Macademia Oil to control fly aways and let my hair air dry and end up with voluminous and luxurious feeling hair.

You can bet it’s a good hair day anytime my hair looks and feels that amazing.

About Me

I used to be a lab tech at a molecular diagnostic lab. After finding my love in beauty via beauty blogging, I’ve worked at Sephora, honed my skills as a makeup artist, and moved across the country to pursue a career in beauty.

As of November 2012, I’ve been working as a PR assistant at the agency that represents Avene, Rene Furterer, Klorane, Glytone, LiftLab, and Dr. Jeannette Graf. All thoughts and opinions are my own and do not reflect my work.

I also write for NadineJolie.com, Pursebuzz.com, and act as a beauty editor/makeup artist/social media manager for Autumn English.
